The earth without oceans.
What would happen?
We need the oceans. We will all suffer without them. No air and no food. Things will look bad.
Food
Lots of countries would have hardly any food at all and no crops would grow because of no rain and how the oceans affect the water cycle. Heaps of fish would die meaning heaps of stink and pollution from the ocean. Most sea life would die because of the other fish dying affecting entire food chains. The earth will be harshly affected by all this water loss and plants will stop growing. All our water sources would run out and most humans would die of thirst and starvation.
Earth
The oceans make a special barrier that keeps the sun’s rays from reaching us. If we don’t have these we will burn. Without oceans we would have no oxygen or seafood. Without the oceans the plankton will die. Phytoplankton make 50% of all of the earth’s oxygen and are crucial for human life. The oceans also absorb most of the carbon dioxide. If all the oceans did disappear the salt remaining would sweep across earth creating a toxic salt storm. There would be ice underground but we would waste heaps of energy for hardly any water. There would be catastrophic fires all around the globe and the plants would all die. Same with the animals. Just about all would be dead except for some humans.
Afterwards
It would be surprising for any humans to still be living after the oceans disappearing but if they did it would be horrible. It would be scorching hot even if you lived in one of the poles. The greenhouse gasses would increase and would trap the sun’s rays to make them even harsher. There would be no rain at all.
Bottom line? We lose the oceans we die.
